“If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.”
--- James 1: 26 (NIV)New Beth Moore Study
Beginning January 17th at 10:00 a.m., we are starting a new Beth Moore series entitled: “Believing God: Experiencing a Fresh Explosion of Faith”. Please consider joining the ladies for group study on Tuesday mornings. See Jan Jackson for more details.Spiritual Gifts Class
Spiritual Gifts classes resume on February 5th. The classes will be in Pastor Tom’s study at the 9:30 a.m. hour. Ministry at Tuxedo Park is based on spiritual gifts.
Church Challenge: 30 Days to live
Pastor Tom is challenging us to do the following throughout this month:
1. Take the 30 Day Challenge by asking the question, “What would you change if you had only one month to live?” Now, I want you to go out this week and ask two more people what they would change.
2. Get into a L.I.F.E. Group and share the 30 day experience in community with others once a week. This could be a home group, office group, coffee shop or Sunday School.
3. Read a Chapter a day in the book One Month To Live and try to journal your personal thoughts and experiences. These journal entries will provide opportunity to share experiences, thoughts and feelings. Note that the book is written in 30 chapters to be read as a daily devotional guide for “your 30 day journey”.Opportunities for Everyone
We have many opportunities to volunteer at the church. We have a need to staff the nursery Sundays for the morning small group, AM worship service, as well as the evening Hispanic services. Please see Brenda Ramsey for more information on how you can help out.
Additionally, there are opportunities to volunteer sorting clothes for the clothing closet and working bread and word Thursday evenings. Please see Stacey Shipley for more information.
Do you have an ear for sound and music? Are you technically gifted? Would you like to develop more in these areas? Diane Cline is looking for assistance in the Sounds Booth Sundays during worship and for special events.
Whatever your gifts are, we have plenty of opportunities to volunteer to share them. :)
Don't have time to donate? We always have a need for donations. Bread and Word ministries currently has a need for diaper, bar soap, shoes of all kinds, and fall and winter clothing and jackets.Youth Outing
On January 28th, the youth group will be going to see the Rock “n” Worship Road Show at Conseco. We will leave from the church at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $10.00.
